Pain When Weeing After C Section

Hi all,

Just looking to see of anyone has suffered from this same problem. I had a C Section 1.5 weeks ago and ever since have had a piercing pain in my lower abdomen when I wee and it gets worse as I have to push to get the last bit of wee out. I've had urine tests etc done and no infections are present.

Has anyone else ever had this, and if so, how did it resolve for you?

Thank you.

I had exactly that sensation a few weeks back and it resolved within the week. In my case it was a result of stupidity on my part- held my water too long, also caught a scratch skin infection and then rubbed/ used a topical cream. Basically mangled up my bits. I was amazed it resolved so quickly. I drank lots of water, not too hot baths, gentle drying no cream.

I also had this and it did resolve itself. I also lost the sensation of needing a wee, so I'd get a tummy ache beforehand and then the pain during. I just had to make sure I went to the loo more frequently and not wait for an urge to go.

Hope it feels better soon!

This is going to sound weird but look up abdominal breathing and pelvic floor overtension.

Basically by breathing you can open the pelvic floor without pushing, so it’s like a passive wee.

All that part of the body is very complicated and your inter pressure is a bit messed up and having a freak out. It should resolve anyway but do look at this to smooth things along.

I lost the ability to sense I needed a wee. Wasn't until 6 weeks I started getting it back. I would realise I hadn't gone to the toilet all day, then go and there would be so much pee! I ended up having to set alarms on my phone to go pee until it came back.

When you have a c-section, you have a catheter so it can be that the actual catheter has caused a bit of sensitivity. I had it for about a week after I had my c-section but all resolved and no problems now!

I was going to say this. I've had it after c section and also after a hysterectomy and I'm sure it was from the catheter.
