Third degree tear

Hi all. Three weeks ago tomorrow I gave birth to my second little boy. He was 9lb5oz & I sustained a 3b tear & 2.3litre blood loss. It’s been really rough since. When will I begin to feel better? At the moment, I can barely move, I can’t drive & am just shuffling around the house. Can anyone who sustained a similar tear remember when they started to feel a little better? Thank you.

Yes, I was walking fairly normally at 2 weeks. Not exactly springing around but at least moving. It was painful until about 4 weeks and after that just mildly uncomfortable.

Hi congratulations on your little one! I had a 3b tear 8 years ago. It took me a good 6 months to feel normal. Make sure you get referred to a pelvic floor physio, you'll be fine. I remember being distraught at the time thinking I was going to have incontinence issues for the rest of my life, but I'm fine now (mostly)
