Postpartum spotting

I’m 11 weeks PP and my bleeding only stopped at 7 weeks. With my first child I bled for a week so wasn’t expecting it to last so long. I’ve then had spotting that lasted a few days at weeks 8 and 9. I thought it had finally stopped but today I’m bleeding again.
I am breastfeeding but with my first my periods came back at week 4 despite EBF.

Anyone experienced on and off spotting for this long after childbirth?

Eughhhhhh yes. With my first I bled for about five weeks, pretty standard. For my second it was 13 weeks. Mostly consistent bleeding, but broken up by a day or two of nothing, and then spotting, and then bleeding again. Went back to the drs who said as long as there wasn't a smell or signs of illness it wasn't an infection from retained material. Eventually I had a big clot (gross I know) and it stopped.

@Redplenty thanks for your reply, that’s good to know. I don’t have any signs of infection so maybe it’s just taking my body longer this time to recover. Everything I’d read online said bleeding should stop by 6 weeks so I was panicking that I’m now 11 weeks. I have had 2 full weeks of no spotting so I’m really frustrated it’s started again. I will keep an eye on it for another few weeks and make a GP appointment then if it hasn’t stopped.
