Curious if others think I ought to try to find another women's physio. I have wanted to get back into exercising but noticed that even a year post-birth that my tummy isn't quite the same. This is despite having lost all of my pregnancy weight and being a normal BMI--though I could still stand to lose a bit more weight to look more fit as I'm at the higher end of my normal weight range. But sometimes I literally look 4 months pregnant and my poor belly button just doesn't look right at all anymore. This is following a second pregnancy and first time I didn't notice this at all.
I thought a 'Mummy MOT' would be a good idea and found one locally with lots of great reviews (all 5*). The appointment was about an hour but it wasn't quite as I expected. Basically was told to drink more water, take probiotics, and taught a couple of exercises I could have googled. They didn't check my pelvic floor at all and said that would be at another appointment! I found that a bit misleading as I assumed this would be checked alongside my stomach muscles. Also, when they told me about the gap between my stomach muscles they started discussing diastasis recti, but my measurements were 1cm and 0.5cm, which from what I've read is totally within normal range. I then asked how many sessions I would need and they made it out as if I'd need to go for months to get back into shape for running.
The person was nice enough, but I'm thinking I should probably be looking for someone else. What do you all think?
