Postpartum hives- is this a thing?

Baby is 7 weeks old, and since then I’ve had itchy skin all over, not permanently but random parts of skin will start itching at various times of the day, and when I scratch I come up in hives in that place.

they disappear 10-15 mins after I stop scratching, but it’s driving me mad!

is this linked to postpartum? Has anyone else had this?

I'm not pregnant but I have the exact same thing on my hands though. It looks awful. They get red and itchy, I itch and they turn into massive hives, sometimes just lumps but most the time they are bright red and look sore. I've tried all different creams, anti histamines and nothing. Seems to help.

Hopefully someone on here has some tips for us.

@Ismo456 Is this any better for you some months on?

I gave birth to my third baby 5 weeks a go and for the last 2-3 weeks have hives constantly. I’m quite prone to them anyway as I’m sensitive skinned but this has been unlike anything I’ve experienced before. They are everywhere and they start around 6pm every evening and I even get them all throughout the night, it’s misery inducing.

@Lefmry Oh god it’s awful isn’t it.

baby is 4 months old now and I still get this now and then but nowhere near like I was before.

actually saw the gp about it a few weeks ago and he said to just chalk it up to hormone levels especially as it seems to be improving x
