Contraception post birth ?

I had a coil prior to trying to conceive as the combination pill doesn't agree with me but progesterone does . I had tried the progesterone only pill but spotted constantly on it as it didn't appear to be strong enough I had to take two pills a day to stop it which isn't ideal. I'd rather not get another coil for various reasons one being it was absolutely traumatic and excruciating having it in the first time also I'd hope to maybe try for our second in a years time. Does anyone just track ovulation and use that as a form of contraception ?

I’m in exactly the same situation, nearly 10 weeks postpartum and we will realistically be thinking of trying for baby number 2 this time next year so I am just going to track ovulation & use condoms until then x

You might not be but: If you are exclusively breastfeeding this acts as contraception UNTIL the baby takes solids as well. Investigate this further to make sure you fulfill all the criteria for this to work!
