Irregular period 4 months postpartum

So my baby is 18 weeks old now and when I was 6 weeks postpartum, the GP gave me the mini pill until I had lost enough weight to go back on the one I was on before. I was told I wouldn't have a period.

After about a week on it, I started to bleed and it wasn't agreeing with me in other ways so I stopped it. I then had what I assume was a withdrawal bleed for 3/4 days but then it's stopped.

I didn't have anything until around 3 weeks ago. I thought I was starting a period but it has basically just been on and off everyday for about 3 weeks. Sometimes I can go to the toilet and there's nothing, sometimes there's quite a lot. It's never been really heavy, sometimes not enough to warrant a pad but I just don't know what's going on. It can be dying down and I think it's stopping and bang it's back full flow again.

Has anyone experienced this? I was diagnosed with PCOS about 9 months before getting pregnant and always had irregular periods months apart but not really like this.

I have a GP appointment next week to look at starting the pill again so will mention it but just wondered if anyone had had anything similar.
