Lumpy breast

Dear Mumsnetters,

Hope you all and your family are well.

For about 2 months I've noticed I have a pea sized lump in my left breast (my baby boy nurses from this one predominantly). I thought it's just a blocked duct so didn't think much of it and it's not painful either. I have had lumpy breasts in past so didn't see a doctor yet because usually they say it's just fat deposit.

However, I felt my breasts a bit more and put my arms up and realised a bit large area near my armpit just above left breast which feels like mass. The pea sized lump is still there too.

Anyone have any experience similar to this?

Hey @Mumtobe202310 👋 I would suggest that you make an appointment with your gp? It's best not to take chances with any lumps you find in your breast, armpit or up to the collarbone area. Could be hormonal changes to do with the postnatal period, who knows.. But take it from someone who knows, always get any lumps checked. Fingers crossed for you. 🤞

Thank you so much, will make an appointment. I would have made an appointment earlier but I am suffering from PND and you have to wake up 8am to make an appointment!! It's a struggle as it is to wake up later let alone 8am, but I will try. I hope you are well, thanks again

You don’t have to make a same day appointment though that’s fine. You can call the surgery and say you have suspicious lumps and think you may have breast cancer and they will see you urgently.

Ohh, I didn't know that! Thank you for that, that sounds more doable.
