Still spotting 12 weeks post partum

Has anybody experienced spotting for quite some time after giving birth? I had a c section 12 weeks ago and have had 2 periods since, but I still get very light spotting when I wipe. Nothing like at the start, but still noticeable.

I am seeing my gp but wondered if anybody else has experienced this and what it turned out to be? Thank you.

Hi @lillyg23 I bled nearly every day for 6 months after my c section. Currently having some tests done but think it's just hormones..... scans bloods everything is normal

I remember still needing pads in the February and I had my DD in early Dec. Sort of just tapered off by March I think. I never went to GP though - maybe I should have done!

Oh really @boymama2023 !? Are you still bleeding? My gp said she's sure things are just settling down but they're sending me for a scan and colposcopy just incase.

@lillyg23 it's eased off but still so abnormal for me. It's good to have all these things checked though. I felt at ease after x

@lillyg23 i am experiencing the same - how did this turn out?

lillyg34 · 26/07/2024 22:46

@Healthfreak95 I was sent for an internal ultrasound in the end. Turned out to be PCOS! But it did settle. My periods are irregular now. Very odd as no symptoms before pregnancy.

Sure it's nothing but always best to get it checked!
