So I’m 4 weeks post EMCS, had an infection, where fluid burst out wound so there was a hole about 1cm big, that closed up rather fast. Now I’ve noticed another hole which is very very small however I’m just so worried I’m going to get another infection, what causes the holes? It’s not smelly, no pus or redness and I’ve got silver dressings that the nurse gave me which I feel is healing the rest of the wound. I just want to heal and I’m scared this hole is another set back. I’m going to look at it again tomorrow and if it’s any bigger I will contact GP/midwife.

Hello, I don’t have much advice but similar happened to me as my scar was very slow to heal. I was able to go to the MAC Maternity ward at my hospital where the midwives would see me until 6wks post partum so maybe get in touch with them today. The consultant surgeon saw me on their rounds and was much more helpful than the GP and was fine taking baby along and we had our own space etc.
