Postpartum sex

I'm 6 months PP with first child my DS, had a vaginal delivery, very quick with two 2nd degree tears which were stitched up after. Sex has been incredibly painful since. We have tried about 10 times from 4 months PP using lubricant and it is still so painful. I've got an appointment with my GP next week. Is this common with other mums or not?

Are you breastfeeding? I couldn't have sex until I stopped feeding after 10 months. Later found out it's a hormone thing and dr could have given something to help. But everything went back to normal within couple weeks of stopping the breastfeeding.

I’m not quite as far along as you but I’m 9 weeks PP and I had an episiotomy whilst birthing my son. My partner and I are desperate to get our sex lives back but even his finger hurts me (sorry tmi).
i am not breastfeeding but am interested to hear if anyone has experienced the same internal pain (beyond where my stitches were done) or if there is something wrong x

Didn't want to read and run. Episiotomy's can cause scar tissue inside your vagina. Mine felt like a burning sensation for months after. I was told by physio to keep massaging the area to stretch it and it worked! Bit of a weird thing to do but i regularly use an electronic Kegal machine since my birth injury so tended to do the massages before doing that! Hope this helps

Please can you tell me if this resolved itself and if so how did you get there? I'm almost 3 months pp and have tried about 5 times to have sex and it is agony!
