Thanks in advance for any help / stories you can share to make me feel more at ease. I want to preface this by saying that although I gave birth 18 months ago I have had no issues with bladder incontinence for at least a year, and before that only very mild normal issues straight after delivery, so this incident came as a huge shock. In a nutshell I was at the pool today with my toddler and suddenly with no urge warning felt myself start to wee. I wasn't 100% sure that's what was happening as I hadn't had any urge to go and obviously was in water. But we got out of the pool and went to go and get changed so I could use the bathroom. Over the next 10 minutes as I was getting my daughter dressed I could feel wet kept seeping into my pants and to my horror through into my trousers. I didn't have any urge warning of these leaks it was like my body just involuntarily wee'd and I couldn't hold it in or stop it. I even sat down and crossed my legs but to no avail! I went to empty my bladder in the toilet but hardly anything came out, so it wasn't like I was bursting to go or anything. I am now wearing period pants everywhere and I'm mortified in case it happens again in public without warning. Some context, I recently night weaned my 18 month old in order to try and get pregnant again. I was previously breastfeeding a huge amount overnight so considered could this be hormonal somehow? I also changed my diet recently so I eat very low amounts of carbs and I fast overnight until about midday, and this incident happened before my first meal of that day. I mention these two things just because they're the only life changes I've had recently, in case relevant. Google tells me what happened is called "reflex incontinence" but apparently it's usually if you have something wrong with your brain or spinal cord... would love to hear if anybody else has experienced this as I'm freaking out. Thank you 🙏🏼
