Sugar when breastfeeding

Hi. I'm breastfeeding our 5 weeks baby girl. And I totally overdid sugar after birth to be able to keep up (and also because I like sweets). Dr said I can eat whatever I want even if breastfeeding. But I'm getting a bit worried now. I ll try to cut down. But could this have hurt in any way the baby?...

Many thanks.

It can't hurt the baby. I exclusively breastfed and binged on chocolate and other crap daily! 2 healthy kids.

No the baby will be fine. Enjoy your treats - the hunger when breastfeeding is unreal! I used to take biscuits to eat in the night up to bed with me 😂

Definitely enjoy your treats! I am 10 months pp and still ebf, I eat far more sugar than I should every day, but baby has never slept through and it’s the only way I can function 🤣don’t deny yourself at this point! You will be so exhausted

Are you kidding? 90% of my milk was made out of cake.

Whatever you eat, your body will turn it into the same (very sweet) milk.

Don't think on it, it will not be an issue and one day when they are at school / grown up it won't even cross your mind. quite frankly the early days are just surviving Brew

Don't worry, two large mugs of tea and choc digestives were besides me for every feed...........didnt harm my three sons😜who are all grown up now but I can still remember the extreme thirst and hunger (but they were all greedy guzzlers)🐷
