Bleeding post birth

Hi everyone

looking for some advice / experiences! I’m 9 and a half weeks post c section and honestly don’t know what’s going on with my bleeding. I bled for around 4 weeks straight after my c section, and since then have been having really heavy bleeding for a few days and then nothing for another few days and the same again. It starts off brown then I have heavy bright red bleeding and then it suddenly stops again. Not really sure if this is normal, I was thinking it was my period but because of the stopping and starting now I’m not too sure! Does anyone else have the same?

Does the loss smell bad?

@DustyLee123 i wouldn’t say it smelt bad, it does have a smell to it but seems like a period sort of smell if that makes sense

Any unusual bleeding needs seeing. Hope you get sorted soon.

I agree have it checked just to be on the safe side.

I had this. Now 15 weeks!!
Had infection test, blood test today and ultrasound next week. It has stopped for two days so now unsure. Infection results back negative. Push for all 3 tests!!

I’m almost 8 weeks postpartum and am still bleeding. It’s not too heavy and I wasn’t concerned until my health visitor mentioned it. Just waiting for mine and baby’s 6-8 week check.
