TMI pic - thick yellow discharge 4 weeks post section

Had an ELCS almost 4 weeks ago and been a bit sorer in my stomach the past 2-3 days (assumed I have just been overdoing it over Christmas time) but woke up this morning to thick yellow gooey stuff on my pad (sorry 🤢) and loads is coming out when I wipe.

Is this normal lochia? Has anyone had this before? I never had this with DD1 after my vaginal delivery so no idea if it's normal. Usually when I'm a bit sore/have overdone it the bleeding is heavier but never thick and yellow discharge? Not sure what it could be.

I don't recall this discharge after my c section but that aside, at 4 weeks I was pretty much back to normal so I think your tummy getting sorer means you need checking over. It's a bank holiday so you'll need to call 111 I think but please do it.

JoyeuxNarwhal · 27/12/2023 07:27

It's some years since my last c section but I get discharge like that when I have Berocca Blush

How are you feeling in yourself? Any temperature or fluey symptoms? When do you next see mw/hv? Is your scar looking ok? If I was otherwise feeling well then I'd probably watch and wait, but otherwise would call 111/mw for advice.

@INeedNewShoes not sure where you are but it's not a bank holiday in England today.

@JoyeuxNarwhal ah thanks. I am in the UK just confused about what day it is 🤦🏻‍♀️

greyberry · 27/12/2023 09:17

@INeedNewShoes okay, thank you. I just had a look to see if my GP surgery is open to send them the pic for advice but they've closed all the online forms etc and can only call up so will ask them as well I think

@JoyeuxNarwhal I feel okay, had a bit of a cold type feeling for a couple of days but that's probably what it is as opposed to anything else I think? HV isn't out until next week and my scar closed up really quickly and still seems to be closed but it was a bit red and nippy in the middle of it yesterday and I thought it had a weird smell (sorry again 🤢). not like a bad smell as such but just weird

Ha! I was only aware because I had to go to work.

JoyeuxNarwhal · 28/12/2023 17:12

@greyberry (are you op with a name change?) hope everything is ok. Smelly scar sounds a bit concerning.

greyberry · 28/12/2023 17:20

Oh lol yes, didn't realise there was a different name for the first post! @JoyeuxNarwhal it doesn't smell bad, just odd, but it's not opened up or anything and no discharge etc from it so not really sure.

Still quite sore in my stomach though, like above the scar, although been having a nightmare getting through to my GP surgery for advice. I have been doing more this week though so hard to tell if I've just done too much or if something isn't quite right
