Bare with me on this -
I had a c section 4 weeks today. About 10 days after I noticed a very small amount of blood (drops) from the side the scar was 'tied' it was coming from a small opening you could barely see. And a small hard lump above this maybe a large grape size maybe 2 grapes. Midwife thought it may be a heamatoma. I was given antibiotics as a precaution 4 or 5 days into taking the antibiotics I had to see the GP for another issue and asked her to take a look. She prodded the lumps and lots of clear fluid came out od the small opening I had to wear a bandage for leakage for a couple of days. I finished the antibiotics and the opening had fully closed, the lump/swelling also seemed better but not gone.
6 days later I woke with a large lump/swelling in the same place and feeling really tender across my lower stomach. Scar itself still looks healed and no opening. I called the gp straight away and over a phone appointment they issued me more antibiotics.
I'm on 4th day of these second set of antibiotics and the swelling/lump still feels hard, but also slightly stingy/itchy. I'd say it feels about Satsuma size (I can kind of cup it with the palm of my hand). Scar itself still healed and looks fine.
I called the GP as I was a bit worried today, but it was lates in the day they were meant to call back but didn't. Its really hard to get an appointment, I also think they will tell me to wait and finish the course or antibiotics anyway (3 days).
Anyway... has anyone had this or similar? I've read lots of horror stories about the scar re opening, and necrosis. Has anyone had a large lump that didn't pop open the scar to drain? Hoping I can have my mind puf af ease as I'm quite worried about it! But not sure it's warrants an a and e trip!
Thank you!
