Hiya,
I am currently 4.5 months postpartum and have been having a LOT of slightly yellow odourless discharge, it had soaked right through my pants and pyjama bottoms when I woke up yesterday morning!
just wondering if anyone else has had similar? Don’t want to bother fighting for a drs appointment if it’s just one of those normal post partum delights! X

Hi,

I am 3 months postpartum and also have yellow discharge that is odourless and that just won't go away. I don't know why it's there and I don't think it's normal lochia. Don't have any advice I am afraid. Just wanted to message to say your not alone in this, maybe it's hormonal !

Hi, I'm 6m pp and have noticed increased cm in the past couple of months. It's mostly clear and odourless but sometimes has a yellow tinge to it. It looks like ewcm for much of the month rather than just during my fertile window as it used to be 🤔 getting to a point now where I think I may need to wear liners regularly.

I mentioned it to my pelvic floor physio and she said she wouldn't be concerned if it doesn't have a smell and it's mostly clear but to speak to a gp if it's still happening.

Did either of you end speaking to a dr about it?

I’ve booked a drs appointment for 3rd Jan - I had my smear recently and when I got the results through the letter said to speak to a dr about any unusual discharge so I thought better safe than sorry! I do think I’m having slightly less now but deff still more than usual! Will let you know the outcome.

I have not been to the doctor's or have an appointment at the moment. I have just finished breastfeeding and I am going to see if that has an impact. Everything I ring the doctors they tell me the next appointment is not available to book and to call back another day. Just so tired of this tbh

Hi, I wondered if your doctor was able to help? I'm 9 weeks postpartum and am having the same thing with abdominal cramps. I had an infection after labour so am wondering if it's still lingering. Thank you!

Amy5261 · 07/01/2024 21:10

Hello, my dr took a swab and said if I don’t hear back within a week then there is no infection and it’s nothing to worry about, so just waiting to see if I hear anything back! The first thing she said was that it could be an infection but I haven’t had any sort of pains or itching so she didn’t think it would be - if your having pain with it id definitely book an appointment and get some antibiotics. My dr actually offered to prescribe medication just in case there was an infection rather than doing a swab which I thought was a bit odd! X

Ah thank you so much for letting me know. Hope all is ok for you! I'll contact my GP tomorrow. X

Amy1117 · 10/01/2024 22:35

OP have you had your results from the doctors ? I was also checked for infection a while ago and all the tests came back negative but I am still getting the discharge. I also have no pain or anything so not too concerned, it is just such a nuisance . Mamatojanc how did your gp app go ? OP are you still getting the discharge ? Hope we all get this sorted out soon x

Amy5261 · 11/01/2024 09:07

Hello, yes it showed there was a bacterial infection so I’ve been prescribed some antibiotics- I’m not convinced that it’s going to solve the discharge issue but we will see! X

OP I hope the antibiotics fix the issue for you 🤞 I feel condemned to have it forever now 😕

Hi all,
I have the same thing you've all described. I'm 6 months postpartum, had the discharge for a while but I thought it was just another random thing that would clear up.
It's generally watery, milky colour, sometimes a bit yellowy and creamier, didn't smell.
Recently it's increased and feels like it's rather a lot. It also changed smell for the worse although it doesn't always smell. Did a course of pessary antibiotics but didn't help, maybe made it worse!
Sometimes it resembles the ovulation stringy so I'm to totally confused. So far tests have come back negative for bacterial infection.
Just wondered if anyone had any more info or experience to share on this?
Many thanks

Hi, mine lasted for what felt like a lifetime months and months and months. It did eventually go back to normal. Must have just been a normal postpartum thing for me. Hope that helps

Amy5261 · 14/12/2024 08:16

Hello, if you’ve been checked out by the doctor it sounds like one of those postpartum delights here to stay a little longer! Mine did clear eventually but around my time of ovulation each month it comes back, feel like I need to take out shares in panyliners at this point 😅. Since having my daughter 18 months ago I’m also absolutely vile for 2 days a month around my period - these hormones have a lot to answer for! X

Thanks for the replies Amy1117 and Amy5261.
Yeah I've still got it. Very boring and puzzling one to solve. It makes you feel pretty rubbish. I'm now trying some probiotics I was recommended and might try a pessary of those as well.
The yoghurt is another suggestion I've had but it's not exactly a fun one to do and I'm not sure of the efficiency there.
It does feel like it's been going on for such a long time now! There's definitely an imbalance that needs sorting. Hopefully it will get better eventually as you say 🤞

Hi guys,

I was reading through your conversations. I am a FTM almost 6 months post partum and experiencing yellowish brown discharge sometimes streaks of pink. I have had my periods about 3 times now, but as soon as it ends the discharge continues and I am having to use panty liners. I have been to the GP and they did a swab which found nothing. I have had antibiotics and anti thrush pessary with no difference. The discharge doesn’t smell offensive unless my pad doesn’t get changed frequently. How long did yours last as it’s a pain in the bum atm.

fthisfthatfeverything · 07/08/2025 08:06

I’m 5 months PP it’s normal. I’m EBF & it was also sometimes orange

Amy1117 · 07/08/2025 10:47

Mine lasted about a year!

Zbaby · 08/08/2025 06:38
