My LO is now 7 weeks old and I still feel sore, swollen and bruised inside. Is that normal after this amount of time? ☹️

Absolutely!!! It's a massive thing you've had done to you and 7 weeks is no time at all.

If it was a bloke he would still be ok bedrest!

Congrats on your little one and take it as easy as you can

Definitely! It took me 4 months before I felt remotely normal down there. Honestly forceps are so barbaric. I didn’t even have any issues like infections ect. Going up and down stairs definitely didn’t speed up my recovery. Don’t worry about Taking the time you need to heal. I remember at the time feeling really down about how sore I was because friends that had straight forward births made me feel like a drama queen because I was still suffering, I think only fellow forceps birth people understand! But just to say, it does get back to normal with time and my second birth I didn’t need a forceps at all but did get an epistomy, without the forceps in the mix it was a much easier recovery!!!!

Thank you all, I’m so fed up being constantly sore 😭 did anyone else have burning pains too?

It just feels never ending at the moment x

Are you taking pain relief regularly? I found it really helped if I took them at regular times regardless of pain to give them a chance to build up
