Post partum rage??

Bit of a random one. I’m four months post partum and recently I’ve found myself getting so angry with my eldest DC who is three years old.

I literally feel myself clench my jaw with pent up anger.

Where possible I really try and use gentle parenting techniques so shouting at him isn’t like me and I don’t like it.

I can’t work out if it’s just because he’s going through a difficult age at the moment and this is normal, whether it’s post partum hormones and will pass naturally, or whether it’s a sign of something underlying I should speak to the doctor about I.E PPD.

I’m getting very little sleep at the moment because of the four month sleep regression so I don’t think that helps!

Just wondering whether to bear with and hope it passes or whether this seems abnormal and I should get help?

i am currently getting CBT for anxiety

Have a loook at dr Boyd on instagram she has a lot of info on this. It’s not spoken about much but is more common than you think. Hope the sleep picks up soon, that won’t be helping.

I had this and was scared that I'd hurt my toddler is was so bad. Turned out I had pnd. Medication helped enormously and I went back to my normal self.

I’m 9 weeks PP and going through exactly the same thing. It’s like I can’t help my self exploding over the smallest silliest thing that would not have bothered me 3 months ago. The times I’ve cried in my room because I feel so bad for her. I just hope she doesn’t remember it. Good luck I’ve been told it goes eventually :/
