Hello

I had a c section almost 7 months ago now I’m really struggling looking at myself in the mirror even buying clothes it’s just making me upset and disappointed.

I was wondering does this c section belly ever go? I’ve been on a calorie deficit since but I just don’t feel like I’ve lost anything I’ve had a previous eating disorder so I’m trying to be kinder to myself old me would have restricted my food completely and excerised etc but I’m trying to not obsess over this

Would recommend a mummy mot / visit to a womens health physio to review whether you have diastasis recti still, which can make the tummy bulge postpartum... all pregnant women get diastasis recti, some to a greater degree. Some targeted exercises will help

I would agree going to a physio.

In the short term you could try the exercise I was taught for this: stand with your back to a wall and hold your belly in for a moment with your abs (gently, not too tight), hold for a few seconds then relax. Repeat a few times each day.

Don't do any more vigorous ab exercises though like crunches, until the physio says you're ready, as it can make diastasis recti worse
