10 post natal cramping and spotting?

Hi all,

just a disclaimer before I start: I have gone to my GP about my issues and I am awaiting ultrasounds etc. I do also suffer with health anxiety which is also being dealt with.

I am 10 weeks postpartum today and had a normal vaginal delivery. I bled for around 4 weeks after birth and believe I had a light period for 4 days just under 4 weeks ago. However since then I have been noticing that I have been getting pelvic pain. Most of the time it just feels like period cramping, nothing too extreme but noticeable, and then sometimes I can just feel it on either the left or ride lower side. I also had some bleeding after sex around 2 weeks ago but no pain during. I am booked in for an ultrasound which has been expedited due to my anxiety over it being either ovarian or cervical cancer. However I can’t have my smear until after 12 weeks postpartum as my GP explained I am more likely to have a false positive test result before then.

I suppose I’m here to hear about anyone else’s similar experiences that wasn’t something so drastic as to what I am thinking? Has anyone else experienced this at all? Thanks in advance

@Summertimeflowers hi

not sure how similar this is but I am 12 weeks postpartum and not had a period yet but since 11 weeks have been losing pink/brown discharge daily. Just wondering if you have had your scan yet and if so what the outcome was? I have my postnatal check up on Thursday so will mention it then to the GP

@Baby4due2023 Hey!

Yeah I had my scan, all looked normal and then I got my period later that day and wow was it an experience! Very uncomfortable and heavy so assuming the pains where in relation to that.

I also had some pink discharge for a few days after my period which I think it was just lingering longer than normal, I mentioned it to my GP and they checked and took a swab but weren't concerned ☺️
