First period

Hi,

I'm having what I think is my first proper period at 6 weeks (postnatal bleeding stopped after about 2 and a half weeks).

I'm on day 9 of bleeding and the last 5 days have been SO heavy and seem to only be getting heavier with no sign of it coming to an end. I'm getting through a pack of heavy flow night pads every 24 hours and am going to have to go buy maternity pads again I think. Is this normal?

@2littles hope you’re okay! How did you get on? I am 8 weeks post partum and I think I’m having what is my period but it is so heavy I’m soaking a pad every hour😩

My periods post birth have been so heavy I actually thought I was having a haemorrhage the first time! I think it is normal unfortunately!

Before having my baby my periods were really light and only lasted a few days. But postpartum they were so so heavy. I still had to use the maternity pads and would sometimes have to run to the toilet to stop soaking through. Horrendous. I think by about month 6 or 7 postpartum they started to settle down a little.
