Hello

Hoping someone can help, my baby is 3 weeks old and my nipples just don't seem to be getting used to feeding they are so sensitive. We have been seen by a lactation consultant and they have said the latch is fine but my nipples just feel constantly sensitive when I am not feeding. Is this normal, will it die down?

Hey and congratulations on having your little one! This is totally normal, or at least it’s the same experience I had. I used silver nipple shields and nipple cream for the first 6 - 8 weeks of breastfeeding and my nipples seem to have adjusted. Much less sensitive than before, however they do still tingle if touched or something brushes against them. My LO is now 4 months :-)
