Episiotomy

I’m really trying to get my confidence back within myself but I’m finding it so hard. I am a 23 year old

I had my first child 5 years ago and my second child 11 weeks ago now,Both births was horrendous.

My first birth I had an episiotomy which healed horrible. I had thick thick scar tissue and it just never looked right and always caused me pain with sex even years after having my DS. Every time I went for a gyno appointment it would always be commented on and suggested surgery but I was too scared to have it cut open again due to how much it effected my mental health.

My second birth I had another episiotomy but on my left side as my first episiotomy had too much scar tissue to cut through. So I have two episiotomy both sides.

I really don’t know what to do, if to go down the private route and go for cosmetic surgery or consult in my GP and see what they can do

Has anyone else ever had two episiotomy opposite sides and what was your experience with it

Not both sides but mine was a hatchet job and extended into the top of my leg, got infected, didn’t heal for months. It was also commented on quite a bit in not very nice terms. I don’t really care though. What exactly are you worrying about? Do you have a partner? Intimacy? Most men are just happy to be having sex. I doubt they’d give a bit of scarring a second thought.
