Sorry in advance - just wanted to know if anyone's incision looked like this (and smelled like death 🙈) and if it turned out ok in the end?

Backstory - 3rd section, planned, 16 days PP.

I had a c section that became infected at one side. It was red, felt very lumpy and was uncomfortable. I think yours is infected too. Please phone your doctor or your maternity triage and explain the situation

Dinnertimedrama · 04/03/2023 07:43

If it smells it's probably infected. Go and get it checked. Either ring the Labour ward or your GP for advice.

Believeinmarmite · 04/03/2023 07:45

That needs to be checked ASAP by Gp or maternity unit. Hope it heals up well once treated

catfunk · 04/03/2023 08:06

If it smells like death that's a sign of infection. Get it looked at asap.

piedbeauty · 04/03/2023 08:07

16 days? Looks infected. Please get it checked out asap.

Eek no! Definitely get that looked at.

I got an infection in my scar on my 3rd C-section. It smelt bad and looked a little like that. I had to take antibiotics and then visit the nurse everyday for 3 months to have it redressed and treated as it took much longer to close up. It's all fine now and I had no further problems. It's really important you get seen asap though so it doesn't lead to further complications.

Thanks all. I have been to midwife who is not concerned but has sent off a swab just to check.
