Bowel movements post birth

I am 9 days post birth now with DC2

My first was a c section and I had no issues with toilet after the birth

DC2 was born 9 days ago and I lost a fair amount of blood which resulted in low iron which I'm taking tablets for (this was a VBAC birth)

Since having the baby, my stools have been very dark, almost black. MW said to expect this for the first 2 or so but I've probably been about 6/7 times now and it's still black

Is this likely to do with my iron and is this normal or should I get checked for anything else?

Yes, taking iron tablets causes black stools so try not to worry OP. Why not contact your midwife just by way of reassurance to be on the safe side? Congratulations on your new little one by the way!
