Blocked Duct Query

Hoping for advice...

I'm currently awaiting biopsy results for a lump in one of my breasts. I'm breastfeeding and am very hopeful it's related to that (though I am very anxious). I have, however, now found another lump, in my other breast. It's appeared fairly suddenly and wasn't identified when I was examined at the hospital this week. I have phoned the hospital to let them know and the consultant will be informed.

I am so hopeful this is a blocked duct - it's relatively small (just bigger than a 5p piece) but it's rock hard, immovable and pain free. Are blocked ducts always accompanied by pain? I'm going out of my mind here and would be so grateful for any advice. Xx

Given that you are breastfeeding it is highly likely to be related to that at the moment. But good to get it checked out as well. I had various lumps and hard areas whilst breastfeeding, if they didn't soften within a day or two I did start to get hot and stingy feelings. They would often be associated with blebs over milk ducts.

Thanks @RoseslnTheHospital so much appreciated. I love being able to feed but it comes with its stresses doesn't it! Were yours pain free initially?

Initially, yes, just lumpy and bumpy. You can get cysts as well as blocked ducts, which are benign, usually painless and disappear on their own.

Thank you so much. I appreciate it. It is all just a bit scary/overwhelming at the moment!
