I had an elective c-section 6 weeks ago which went very smoothly.
My stomach from just above my belly button right down to my pubic area feels really tender when touched. I’m unsure if it’s internal or whether it’s the nerves on my skin possibly healing as during pregnancy my whole bump was numb. I have standard numbness around my scar. My scar looks ok I think but the edges are quite sore and raised and very itchy.
I’ve had very minimal bleeding since giving birth and I have had nothing at all for the past 2 weeks. I did have a uterine infection and have had two lots of antibiotics.
Could this tenderness be linked to an infection again or is this just standard for a c-section? My first birth was a vaginal and I don’t recall my tummy hurting like this afterwards? I have my 6 week postnatal check in a couple of weeks at 8 weeks.
