How long did you actually wait to have sex after C-section?

Just had DC2 and the wait is torture. I think we only waited around 2 weeks after DC1 (also c-section) 🤐.

How long did you wait?

I’m 5 weeks PP after an emergency section. Stopped bleeding and really want to again but DH isn’t as keen at the moment he worries I’ll end up with an infection but I’ve recovered a lot better so far than I thought so hopefully won’t be too long.

Not a c section but episiotomy. I'm 19 days post partum and 2 days ago he went down on me. No PinV for a while longer, still healing

You really should wait the 6 weeks PP. Set aside the fact you had major abdominal surgery. There is still a massive wound from the placenta inside that can take up to at least 6 weeks to heal. You’re opening yourself up for a nasty and potentially serious pelvic or womb infection. I waited about 10 weeks post c section even then I didn’t feel 100% ready.

DC1 I had by c section and we waited 6/7 weeks was uncomfortable but a few weeks after all was back to normal

DC2 I had a vaginal birth and we tried at 7 weeks and it was a no go, tried probably about weekly after that and was able to have a somewhat enjoyable experience at about 12 weeks but still now at 22 weeks pp it can be uncomfortable and only enjoyable in certain positions.

Three to five days each time.
However they suctioned my uterus and there was hardly any lochia left after two days or so.

Yes I am aware this isn't usual and I may be jumped on (no pun intended) but we were young and horny and had sex every day throughout pregnancy so five days was a bit unusual (and we did the spoon position until my incision healed)
