Hello everyone,

I had a C section 4 months ago due to having a big baby.

I had 14 injections to get me numb for the procedure!!🤯 I have since learnt that this is not normal😂

Anyway, I have been having horrific back/spine pain to the point of tears which I can only assume is from these injections! Has anyone else had this? What can I do for it!

Thank you in advance, I've attached a picture of my pin cushion spine😂

Yes i had the exact same, my back would freeze throughout most of the day and i would be in a lot of pain and couldn't walk until pain stopped. When i spoke to the doctors they said it's all part of the c section recovery and the spinal needle as can cause nerve damage. I am now 6 months post c-section and it's all stopped out, i try and going for daily walks and warm baths really helped me. I still find now my back vets abit stiff but no more pain. Hope that helps and you feel better soon!

I’m in the same boat. Not been right since C section 4 months ago. I have numb hands and tingling pains and all sorts. I’ve started getting a really bad back this last week, worse than it has been the last 15 weeks and it’s horrible. I’ve got health anxiety and scared myself silly I’ve got something really wrong with me but I’m just hoping it’s related to the section. Not felt brave enough to go to the doctors yet.

they also made a mess of injecting the spinal tap (3 times rather than once) it was an elective so wasn’t rushed or anything.

i rang the doctors today, they've referred me to the local muscoskeletal team for them to assess me and possibly do an MRI. i'm sorry to hear, it's well and truly horrible especially when trying to care for a baby!

Hiya op, I have no sage advice as I have the same problem but it's still here 9.5 years later so I'm hoping someone else can provide insight. I am aware that in some cases a difficult epidural can cause permanent/long term issues but I hope that isn't the case for you 💓

mini update-

I got referred to muscoskeletal team by my gp to possibly get an mri. they must deem it as semi urgent as already got an appointment coming up! referrals usually takes months-years in my area x
