Do you have a fever?

I don’t remember experiencing a dull pain above the scar so long after.

findingsomeone · 11/08/2022 20:24

If your scar is looking like it's healing well I wouldn't worry. I remember having aches in mine for a few months after but it healed fine. However, if red, smelly or oozy, get seen.

TiggeryBear · 11/08/2022 20:31

I vaguely remember my belly being a bit sore still even a couple of months after, especially if I'd done a bit much heavy lifting (heavy food shopping bags & the like) or just really pushed myself doing a lot of general running around. If it hasn't eased over night or if the pain gets worse then seek medical advice.

I had weird feelings above and below the scar for about a year. If the pain remains dull and there’s no sign of infection I wouldn’t do anything.
if you are bfing don’t forget it makes your uterus contract, can feel a bit sore after.

Thissucksmonkeynuts · 11/08/2022 20:42

Are you constipated OP? My scar hurt after my second, I was so constipated it was stopping my uterus contracting fully. Drink ALL the water and up the fibre, and make sure if you are taking painkillers that they are opioid based, they will bung you up. And then drink alot more water.

@NewYorkLassie @findingsomeone @Eixample @TiggeryBear @Thissucksmonkeynuts thank you all for the advice. My scar is healing absolutely fine. Just a few scabs here and there which the doctor said will fall off. I am constipated sometimes. I just feel like everything is pulling downwards towards my vagina, if that makes sense. I have a belly pooch above the scar, that is the bit that has the dull ache. Id like to get mt flat tummy again 😫

I think it's luck as to whether your belly will go flat again, it depends on how your belly was stitched and things. I'm slim and I don't have much of a pouch but unless I do serious ab work by going to the gym multiple times a week to get my body fat % right down, I don't think it will go entirely. But I'm not a gym bunny, I like dog walks in the countryside and being outdoors but not serious exercise! So that's fine for me. Things will still settle down a bit over time as well.

I am just over 6 weeks postpartum, I had an emergency one though and was put to sleep. Mine is butchered, still got some pain there and numbness.

Rba2022 · 20/08/2022 09:21

@1994girl I also had an emergency c section. But wasn't put to sleep. Im so gutted that we have no support or info on how to care for ourselves. We just get taught the basics. From looking online ive found so many information regarding aftercare which the hospital didn't give.

It's shocking isn't it. Its like you just get chucked in at the deep end and left to fend for yourself. My scar was infected at first so I was put on antibiotics. The midwife did 2 short home visits and then discharged me. Couldn't believe it...

Rba2022 · 20/08/2022 10:15

@1994girl very shocking indeed. Im so sorry that happened to you, I hope the scar is healing better now. I keep feeling pains here and there now. Ive heard about scar tissue massage that we can do from 8 weeks postpartum onwards, im going to give that a go in hopes of healing better and getting rid of the belly pooch. If you have tiktok, look up 360mama, she is really good with c section aftercare

I am two weeks post emergency c section. Scar looks neat and is healing well but from the first night I had an incredible soreness at one point in. The scar, nowhere else along it. It is numb just above the scar but above that there is a strip of weirdly sensitive skin, almost like it has been scalded. I am guessing its a bit of nerve damage and only time will tell if it will go away or not?!

I have some aching and pains that come and go. The constipation from the opiate based painkillers is surely not helping though!
