I started it a couple of months ago. Felt low for about 4 weeks after I started it but back to myself again now.

Years ago my practice nurse persuaded me come off the combined pill and change to POP. I was reluctant to as I had read a lot of negative things about it. I have never heard of this side effect though.

When I finally did make the change from combined pill to POP I felt like a different person. My mood swings disappeared and I stopped feeling close to tears all the time. It suited me really well and I stayed on it for years.

I obviously don't react well to oestrogen and for this reason will never try oestrogen- based HRT.

It is strange how we all react so differently to hormones.

I’m on the progesterone only pill for endometriosis, I can’t take estrogen containing pills as they cause horrendous mood swings and make my PMDD much worse. I can’t remember feeling tired, but I have been bleeding lightly or spotting almost every day since I started taking it in March. I hope at some point it will stop as it’s really been a wonder pill for me, has cured my PMDD and taken almost all my endometriosis symptoms away.
