Bleeding postpartum doctors no help

I had a emergency c section at 31 weeks due to preeclampsia

I am 17 weeks postpartum and I am still bleeding. My bleeding after the c section stopped within 2 weeks I spent 2 months breastfeeding and when I stopped I had a very bad and heavy period ..I was having to sit on towels as I was leaking that much. About 1-2 weeks later I started bleeding again and it has not stopped since.
I got discharged at two weeks and a week later I was re admitted because my wound was leaking fluid and blood I had a scan along my scar which showed fluid but no need to operate and was discharged.. when I went home I seen my scar had re opened and had to get it dressed at GP surgery and it healed within 2 months.

when coming home I had a lot going on as in total I spent 5 weeks in hospital so had to settle in and then my nan passed and a week later my mum was having a major operation so I only managed to get to the doctors this week.
All the doctor done was test me for STIs and said she would phone me in two weeks 🙂 she said she wouldn’t request a scan until I’ve been bleeding for 6 months!!!! I thought I’d get told off for waiting too long but apparently I’ve not waited enough!!

I am extremely tired which I put down to sleepless nights but after a few weeks of baby sleeping well and getting 5-6 hours between feeds I am finding it very hard to wake up I have to put my alarm on a speaker and even sometimes it’ll take me 30 mins to wake up or my partner will have to come and wake me up!! I’ve never slept through alarms before and always had about 6 hours of sleep I’ve never been one to lay in bed. I had a blood test done this week and awaiting results I have been taking iron tablets and when I try to stop them I feel even worse.
I have also started getting visual disturbances again which I have not had since about a week after my c section which really worries me as if I do have retained placenta then that means I still have preeclampsia running through my body.
I get cramps that come and go when I have them they are extremely bad and won’t go away with paracetamol.

The doc thinks that my body is just taking a while to adjust but I’ve bled so much I had a very complicated pregnancy which I bled upto 20 weeks and now all this bleeding I honestly do not know how much more I can bleed!!

I can’t believe the doctors are not concerned, has anyone experienced this before?! Do you think that I should go back next week and push for further investigations?!

You need a scan quickly to make sure no retained products ( a small piece placenta ) life behind - you cannot wait 6 months.
