Hi all, I had a csection 3 weeks ago and have been injecting myself with fragmin injection to prevent blood clots. I've been told to do it at the same time every day.

I've been trying to stick to the same time but today injected myself 2 hours earlier than I should. Mum brain. 😴Would this cause any internal bleeding? As it says it may cause bleeding if

Will be absolutely fine.

2 hours early won't cause a problem. Do it an hour earlier than the correct time tomorrow then back to the correct time on Sunday. Set an alarm on your phone.

I should think you’ll be fine. After my last c/s my baby was in SCBU, so I used to get it when they could catch me at my bed and not downstairs with the baby. I would think the warning is if you had two accidentally. Congratulations on your new baby!

Gosh I never got told this. I definitely didn't do mine at the exact same time every night (just when I went to bed, which varied!!). I'm still here to tell the tale :)

Literally completely fine. I have a clotting disorder so am used to these shots, you just need to be doing it regularly so the dosage is even, the timing doesn't need to be exact

I never got told this either, some days I'd do morning and some days the evening because I hated them so much so used to put it off. DD is 1 and no ill effects.

Congratulations.

Chdjdn · 15/07/2022 19:54

I used to do mine in the evenings but that could be 5 or 7 or 9 so I wouldn’t worry

I didn't stick to a certain time, just whenever I remembered and DH was there to stab me, because I was too much of a wuss to stab myself even though I knew it wouldn't hurt.

No I don't think it matters. When I was in hospital they always gave me this at around 10.30pm (by always, I mean the two times I had c sections!!). When I got home I adjusted it to 8pm since I'm very much an 'early to bed, early to rise' type and am usually asleep by 10pm. Didn't do me any harm.

I missed about 12 of my injections altogether, kept missing days. My own stupid fault...

You were meant to inject yourself not your DD 🤔

They give fragmin out routinely now, they never used to. You’ll be fine.
