Become super soft

Since the birth of my DD 5 months ago I have become super soft when it comes to kids. From a person who didn't really love children to someone crying watching crime show involving a child.
Is this normal?Does your emotional state settle and go back?

My children are teenagers and I still cry at the drop of a hat 🤦🏼‍♀️

I'm much softer about everything now tbh. My kids are school age and toddlers. I get emotional about things like roadkill, because what if that badger had a litter of baby badgers in a hole somewhere waiting for their mum to return? 😭

I don't show my softness openly very much, as a) I don't want it affecting my kids and b) people would frankly think I'm incredibly odd, but yeah, inside my head is a total emotional wreck 95% of the day.

I like to think it makes me more empathic too though, so not all bad ;)

God yes. I have to turn off the news when something involves children getting hurt now. Before DC it wouldn't have bothered me. DH is similar since DC as well, So not it's just not women changing their softness level...

Omg yes. Things haunt me now in a way they never did before. DS is 6 and I still have to quell the urge to go upstairs and wake him up for a huge cuddle if I read about anything bad happening to a child, just to reassure myself that he’s safe. Mind you, at least it’s only real life things that upset me now - when he was a baby I read about the GoT episode where Ramsey Bolton murders his stepmother and her baby, and I remember clutching DS and weeping 😳 So you know, the hormones do subside a bit!

I'm terrible. I was a person who actively didn't like children and was adamant I'd never have any . Now I have a 2 yo and I cry at anything to do with kids getting hurt and baby loss etc. I have to check any movie and tv program before I watch it or I'll be in flood of tears. Even just seeing a happy healthy baby makes me tear up.
