Hi,

My second DC was born 6lbs and 10oz.

Is this considered too small?

My first born was 7lbs and 10oz…

I just feel that this one is super tiny and fragile !!!!

My boy was 6lbs9oz and born at 38 weeks
He's now 13 weeks and still only 12lbs.
Doctor said he's not concerned as he is feeding well, he's just a petite baby.
I'm quite petite myself so it's obviously a genetics thing.

I wouldn't be worrying.. your baby is probably on a low centile for weight at the moment but it should all level out as long as feeding ok with lots of wet/dirty nappies etc

Is there a different in what gestation they were born at?
Are they feeding and gaining weight?
My little girl was 5lb 7oz at 2 weeks early, classed as SGA but gained weight and is now on the 50th centile

To some extent you just forget how tiny they are and how quickly they grow.
my son was 5lb and fine.

Both my kids were born at 39+ week and prior to their due date…

Its a bit weird that my second one came that much smaller.

Also, he is a boy while my firstborn is a girl!

My first was full term, 5lb 3 and is now a 23 year old successful very healthy woman. She was never ill, just small born.

If it helps, my midwife told me they come when they are ready! I think that sounds fine as long the midwife is happy and your little one is happy! My girlie was 10lbs so can't compare really but I can sympathise with the concern <3
