Bleeding changed colour 10 days postpartum

Hi all,
So my postpartum bleeding was only bright red for the first 4-5 days, since then it's been much lighter and not really changing the toilet water colour anymore. However today (10 days postpartum) it's suddenly very heavy again, and bright red. Almost like it was at 1-2 days postpartum.

Is that normal? I don't remember it becoming heavy again with my other two births. I've got a midwife visit today, so I'll probably bring it up then just to make sure all is good.

Is it normal for it to get heavier again?

I'm 18 days postpartum and my bleeding had tapered off to nothing then 2 days ago had a big bright red bleed that's just starting to taper off again.
Midwife says this is totally normal and to just make sure I'm wearing a pad at all times, especially if I'm exerting myself more than usual.
