4 week old constipated, help??

Wondering if anyone can offer any advice please, my little boy is 4 weeks old and formula fed and as of last night seems to have become constipated. He is now passing firm/dry little stools and seems to be straining. He’s done 3 today whilst before he was doing one roughly every 2nd day but filling his nappy when he did and it was much more wet in consistency the way it should be for his age and he seemed to be passing it easily. Just wondering if anyone knows how to help with this and what could maybe be the cause? I am going to ring my health visitor first thing and ask her for advice. Thanks x

What formula are you using chick?
My little one is having a lot of trouble with the aptamil formula update.

Massage his tummy in clockwise circles, cycle his legs, wriggle his hips, etc. This all helps to get things moving. I hope he's back to his normal self soon

Mine had constipation v young. I tried cooled boiled water. When that didn’t work I called the docs and they prescribed lactulose. Worked a treat.

You can also try a little cool boiled water but be careful it doesnt affect feeds or fill him up.

My LO had this. The dr prescribed a suppository but I didn't like the thought of it and tried cool boiled water instead and it worked

When my newborn was constipated hv advised to switch to a different formula. It worked - they say they are all the same but I found my son digested them differently.

Failing that warm baths, bicycle legs and tummy massage
