Breastfeeding Pain

Hi,
I am breastfeeding and baby is 4 weeks old.
I am using a nipple shield due to inverted nipples.
Recently when feeding I have been getting sharp electric shock type pains in the Breast that is not current feeding.
The pains similarly come and go throughout the day even when not feeding.

Any ideas?

Could be vasospasm? Or thrush (although apparently this is over diagnosed). Worth asking a lactation consultant about OP of it persists!

Do you find that you leak when this happens? I had a weird, uncomfortable feeling during letdowns for the first couple of months and it would happen randomly and/or when feeding on the other side. I can still feel it 6 months in but it is no longer overly noticeable.

Can Thrush in the breast effect milk supply?

@EmMam03

Can Thrush in the breast effect milk supply?
It's complicated. Thrush will affect feeding because you'll be in pain and baby also. You'll avoid feeding from that side with it and if baby is feeding from that breast then on other breast it can spread to other breast. Utterly miserable. Have you currently got thrush?
