Hi,

Is it normal for my first period to be very heavy 6 weeks after birth (c-section) .

Thank you :)

Was normal for me after my C-section. I'm afraid to say over two years later, it's still incredibly heavy each month, I'm changing pads/tampons every 45mins the first 2/3 days

@Fizzysherbet22 i can’t comment on C-Section specifically but i had a vaginal delivery 17months ago and my periods have been heavy ever since I’m afraid 😓

Yes totally normal, my first few periods after emcs were horrible, I couldn't gauge when they were about to start like I could before & when they did start they were like Niagra Falls, I was flooding, staining my clothes, I had to use super plus tampons & pads for at least 5 days, they were coming every 19 days. It took 6 months from when they started again for them to settle down.

Yes in fact I think I posted a pretty similar thread about my first period after c section and entitled it something like Bloodbath!

Reading with interest- I also had C sec - 3 months ago now; I’m the opposite with no sign of period yet. I have been a bit worried about it but would be reassured if I was you! I’ve also been told they can be very different after birth and take time to regulate and return to ‘normal’. Xx
