I definitely feel like I was stitched too tightly.
Since having my baby sex is super painful, we can only do one position otherwise I rip and bleed, sometimes I rip and bleed with the most comfortable position.

I've tried to help myself out and I'll use a toy and just push around for a couple minutes before anything sexual happens just to try and stretch everything which does help. But it only helps for that one time.

I'm due my second baby in august and panicking, am I going to tear?? If I do can I request they don't stitch me so tightly?
It's really getting me down, I hate the thought of having sex now due to the pain 😭

I had my first baby 10 weeks ago and had an episiotomy and I haven't attempted sex yet, I'm kinda scared of what it's going to be like pain wise and we just haven't been able to prioritise it yet. Can't really offer you any practical advice but I definitely sympathise with your situation!

If you're due your second baby soon, why not try speaking to your midwife about it at your next appointment? I'm sure she'll have good advice for you. From what I've read, your situation doesn't seem to be uncommon (which is why I think I'm so nervous to do it myself!) so there must be something they can do to help. Definitely worth asking if they can stitch you up looser if you tear next time though, not sure if it's possible but definitely worth a shout!

@GB2206
Aw congratulations! Hope you're getting on ok!

Ah it's so daunting isn't it! I think we tried around week 7, it wasn't painful, just felt a little tight.

Hopefully you have no problems 🤞🏼🥰

I've spoken to my midwife and she said hopefully the second baby can help sort it out 😂 I'm hoping it does🤣
If I have to be stitched at all down there I'll be requesting they sort it out 😂 x

Hi, sorry about what’s happened. I just wanted to share that I don’t think what has happened to you is just part and parcel of an episiotomy and that I think you definitely need to speak up and get help. I’ve had two episiotomies now, the first got infected and was incredibly sore and sex was painful for a while, maybe a few months, but not as painful as you’re describing and by a year it felt fine. The second was 7 weeks ago, much smaller cut, and is already fine. Don’t suffer in silence and good luck with number 2.

I had similar after DC1 but my second baby cured this. The bad stitching from DC1 (episiotomy) tore a bit when DC2 was born but was stitched / healed much better than the first time and I've had no issues since.
Hope the same happens for you.
