TMI sorry - is this normal ?

Just trying to gauge from others whether this is normal or if I should contact gp (which is nigh on impossible and she’s useless anyway!)

I EBF my first baby until 18m and had no period or spotting at all until 14m when my periods returned very heavy.

This baby is 4 months old and I am breastfeeding her exclusively. No dummy. Since my post natal bleeding stopped about 6 weeks I’ve had random brown spotting every 2/3 weeks or so. It’s never enough to soak a pad but lasts on and off for 2/3 days. No cramps or anything. Is this normal or not fo you think?

My periods were all over the place after my second- similar to what you describe, not really periods as such then they came back with a vengeance at six months. I didn’t breast feed. The last one I actually had spotting a few days before, then heavy. Do mention it to your gp if concerned but I’m similar!

@Andthebaby33 yes, same here, for the first period after childbirth, my period was never enough to soak a pad but lasted on and off for 2/3 days, yes.

The next month or two should get back to usual bleeding but if not speak to the health visitor or call NHS 111.

@Andthebaby33 But there should have been the vag bleeding just after birth for weeks, it's just the postpartum bleeding, did you get that bleeding?

Andthebaby33 · 20/01/2022 12:52

@dreamingdream yes I had the normal pp bleeding for about 6 weeks. Then stopped and every 2 weeks ish I get this brown bleeding (not regular)
