Hey there!
Im wondering about other women's experience with their first postpartum period.

Im the first of my friends to have a baby, so I don't have many people to talk to about his stuff.

Im curious about how long after birth your period came back, what it was like etc. can it be gradual? Like spotting first or does it just come back intensely

I'm about 8.5 weeks post partum, exclusively breastfed feeding. My Lochia stopped completely at around 3.5 weeks. The last few days I have noticed a small amount of spotting and some very slight period like cramping.

Keen to hear other people's experiences. I know it varies for everyone. Thanks in advance.
Happy new year Star

Hi 👋
I'm currently 8 wks pp and my lochia stopped around 4/5 weeks. I then had a light period around 6 weeks and now having a heavy period with cramps now at 8 weeks. I'm not breastfeeding though.

So similar to mine expect I am breast feeding! Oh well haha I just feel a bit ripped off to have it back already Confused

I noticed the ovulation 2 weeks ago also- however at the time I thought it was surely just some PP discharge.. but now here we are xD

@Bel1991 I was kind of hoping it wouldn't come back for ages lol...we'll see what happens in a couple of weeks. I was same as you though my Lochia was gone by 4 weeks.

Finished postpartum bleeding:
Baby 1- 2 weeks
Baby 2- 1 week
Baby 3- 2 weeks (I haemorrhaged during that labour)

I had my first period
Baby 1 - 6 weeks postpartum
Baby 2 - 5 weeks postpartum
Baby 3 - 10 weeks postpartum

All three exclusively breastfed

Thanks for sharing! So interesting. Sounds like it's n it as unusual as I thought. I know everyone is different but most of what I've read online suggests it's strange for EBF mums to have their period return so soon. Nice to know I'm not the only one! Smile

This is my first baby, EBF. I had my first period about 3 months PP, and now again 30 days later. I feel a big cheated, too. I thought it wouldn't come back for at least 6 months, or until I would start weaning. Stupid hormones. Oh, well.

Such a rip off! Can I ask what it was like fir you? Your guest and. Now your second? Like was it particularly heavy and cramping etc. would you say it was similar to pre pregnancy periods?

My periods are very heavy now. I use maternity pads for the first couple of days and nights.
