Ankles still swollen 3 weeks after c section

One is slightly bigger then the other. The swelling is more nearer the ankles and ankles now. They’re quite painful when I move them but I think that’s the stretched skin.

I told the mw last week and she wasn’t bothered.

Could it be a blood clot? I’m 39, baby no 4 and over weight now 😩

Hows your blood pressure?
Any other swelling?

It was 140/85 last Saturday but the midwife wasn’t bothered. Until then it had been fine. I was worked up last Saturday as worried about dd not gaining enough weight.

No swelling or other symptoms.

What are you doing exercise wise? There are specific exercises which will increase blood flow to your feet which will help reduce the swelling over time - probably still take a few weeks though and you'll need to do them multiple times a day

I’m moving around the house constantly, going for short walks every other day and keeping my feet raised when I can.

I had swelling in pregnancy and extra fluid in my uterus. I had bad swelling after my first dd that took a while to go down.

I’m concentrating on moving my toes and doing circles with my feet now.

Should add, the swelling in my feet has gone now. That’s only happened this week. It’s just my ankles around the bones.

@Bennetgirl Are you taking the daily clexane injections for the anti-blood clot treatment? Maybe the dose can be changed? I had to go back to the hospital to A+E because I thought I had a blood clot but instead I was told they might change my dose to something a little higher.

I did for 10 days and wore the compression socks x
