Hello! I gave birth to my dd 16 weeks ago and had a second degree tear, it’s resulted in a granulation wound and I’ve been given Ovestin cream for it. It’s still red and raw, really hurts, anyone had this before? What’s the healing time like ?
Feeling a bit alone and sad

I'm 21 months post partum and I have granulation tissue that I need to get sorted as it's still painful. They said I will need silver nitrate treatment, is that an option for you? It doesn't get better on its own.

@Satsumaonaplate Ah I’m 9 weeks postpartum post 3rd degree and episiotomy and I’ve been given steroid creams. But issue is the granulation is inside my vagina also :( is yours on the outside? Have you tried steroids?

Mine is both inside and outside :( sex is painful, I didn't seek help sooner because I assumed it was normal after a very traumatic delivery! But I'm going to get help for it soon - they said cream or silver nitrate, not sure which yet

Sorry i changed my name i am the OP,,

So it took 3/4 months of using the cream and trying to keep everything clean using a peri bottle etc.. and now its healed wonderfully even with my zig zag tear! It was both inside to out if that makes sense?

I had a mummy mot from a physio because the wait time for a gyno is laughable, was told my tear is great and my pelvic floor is good (just need to relax i am so tense!)

I never got silver nitrate the cream eventually worked, ive heard mixed things about nitrate as you may need to keep getting it done
