Postpartum hair loss. Will there ever be any regrowth?

Postpartum hair loss sucks. My hairline is creeping further and further backwards. For anyone who has gone through it, when did you start to see any regrowth?

I’ve attached a picture for reference.

Just when I feel like I’ve got my head around being a mum the four month sleep regression and hair loss have smacked me in the face!

Thanks

To be honest, mine never really recovered (sorry)
You can’t see it though - Because I have long hair, I would have to lift up my hair to show you what’s underneath, if that makes sense

Oh it sucks so bad! Mine started growing back at 6-7 months and now I look like a hedgehog with an inch of regrowth around my whole hairline Sad

Thank you both. I feel like I can cope if I know I will see some regrowth at 6 months… For my own sanity I will pretend I didn’t read that first comment (thank you for your honesty though!

I have super long hair so I probably need a big chop. I’m not sure I’m emotionally ready though!

Yeah, it's the most annoying part of having babies. You should get the spiky stage happen at some point.

My hair has gone from being thick and lovely to wiry, thin and brittle! The awful fringe bit did grow out about a year after I gave birth but it’s never really recovered. I am old tho!

WellTidy · 05/10/2021 17:33

My hair hasn’t recovered since having the Dc. It was always fine and thin and not a lot of it (genetic) but it is worse now. I am thinking of going to the Lucinda Eldridge salon and seeing what they suggest. It is seriously pricey and would need ongoing maintenance but I think it would be worth it for me.

Before this, I never realised how important my hair was to me! It completely changed the way I look. Not heard of this @WellTidy but I will definitely look into it myself!

For anyone interested my hair has started to grow back. The bits growing back look quite thin (and spikey!) but I’m grateful for anything so won’t complain. I took vitamin supplements and had protein shakes to make sure I wasn’t deficient in anything. I also use shampoo with caffeine in it and leave that on my scalp for a bit. Not sure if all that really helped but it made me feel better.

Hi @BumbleBeeBumbum - checking in your hair?! 🤣 A sentence I’d never thought I’d write. Did it come back? My LO is 15 weeks old now and I feel like my forehead is growing by the day!!

BumbleBeeBumbum · 03/10/2022 17:42

Hi! It’s still growing back… the hair is definitely thinner around my temples compared to pre baby but I keep spotting new baby hairs so it’s thickening. Give it another half a year and I reckon it will be the same as before!

What helped was a really good cut half a year ago. My hair used to reach my bum but I had it cut to shoulder length. Very big change but it’s improved it so much.

I hope you’re doing ok. It’s so tough! Congrats on the little one x
