Episiotomy - healing time

Hello,

I’m one month PP and my episiotomy has healed, I took antibiotics but swab came back ok however I’m finding it sore to walk and sit like the early days.

Has anyone else experienced this and how long did it take to feel relatively normal again?

Thanks in advance x

If it’s hurting like the early days, as in got a bit better but now it a much worse I would push again for antibiotics.

I didn’t have an episiotomy but did tear and I think by 5 weeks it was easing up a lot, it didn’t hurt to sit or walk around unless I was silly and walked too far.

In terms of when it felt normal, in day to day life it was all fine and I didn’t notice it by about 8 weeks.

I’m 3 months PP now and sex isn’t back to normal but it doesn’t hurt anymore (we don’t carry on if it hurts). The pain that prevented sex that I had from tearing was gone by about 11 weeks, but I still had other general soreness higher up.

It took between 6 months - year.

Still feels a bit taut if I sit a certain way like at the edge of the bath or cross legged on the floor.

Thanks @PinkPlantCase @thesplashing

I wouldn’t say it hurts hurts but feels tender and a feels like a warm sensation but the skin isn’t warm or red.

The things we do ay, i wouldn’t have agreed to it had I of known the recovery time but dread to think of the alternative so probably would have!
