Extreme Tiredness

Hi all,
A little bit about my situation right now. I am suffering badly with extreme tiredness 5 months postpartum. I am aware the struggles of having a baby can make me tired. However, my baby has been sleeping through the whole night since 2 months old I get 10 hours sleep each night and I wake up in the morning feeling like I could go back to sleep for another 10 hours. Throughout the day I get tired points and feeling like I could take a nap but I have to push those thoughts aside due to my baby being awake. I've had fatigue pretty much since my baby was born and feel like it got worse than better. I have tried vitamins and iron tablets which haven't worked at all. Has anyone else gone through the same thing?

Sorry to hear this. You say you've tried vitamins and iron, but have you had a blood test? Only if your iron levels are very low, you may not have taken a high enough dose for long enough to make a difference. I would speak to your GP.

Yes! Check your iron and vit C.

Hi all,
Thanks for the replies, I have contacted my GP and have an appointment next week for blood tests to check my iron levels or if I'm anaemic as my periods haven't been right since I've given birth. I'll keep this post updated for others who may need the same help Smile

You should also get your thyroid levels checked. Its very common for it to be out of whack post partum and a major symptom is tiredness. Def go for blood tests and if you can't get a GP to see you, try MediChecks
