Stopped bleeding after csection

Hi,

I'm 5 days on from having an ELCS. No complications during csection and lost minimal blood in theatre, had a massive hemmorage when on the ward but luckily just managed not to need a blood transfusion.

Everything else has been fine, my midwife is due today but it doesn't seem likely that she will be out as it's almost 5pm and no sign.

I've stopped bleeding after day 3, I have a couple of brown spots but that's it. I'm breastfeeding and pumping (supplementing with formula too) I have a regular pumping and feeding schedule all seems fine and my supply is okay.

Is this normal? I'm very dry and quite sore down there. I had to clots manually removed so I'm not sure if I should be concerned that something is wrong following this?

Anyone else had this happen? I bled for 12 weeks after my first ELCS

I have been bleeding 6 weeks postpartum but I'm now on week 7 and I'm wearing a pad just in case. I heard 6 to 8 weeks bleeding is normal. I'm not sure about 12 weeks bleeding but hopefully another mumsnet user can say their input on this.

@ajja2021 I read you got the blood clots manually removed, did this require extra surgery? Did they find blood clots on a CT scan? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions.

@dreamingdream they gave me gas and air and had to use their hands to pull the clots out, I wasn't scanned I was given 3 types of hormones to help my womb to contract

I've had zero bleeding since day 3 Confused

I spoke with my midwife today, she says it can be normal, rare but normal. Grin I guess after bleeding for 12 weeks with my firstborn I should be happy!
