Is it normal to have the postnatal bleed for 5 weeks?

5 weeks and still bleeding but it's much lighter bleeding now. Is this normal to bleed for so long. I did c section. Is it normal for c section patients? Did you change to pads for a light bleed? Sorry if TMI (too much information).

Yep, entirely. And yes you can change down to "normal" pads for less intense bleeding, but it's better to go for organic ones if you can as the regular ones have a plastic mesh on them that can irritate when you're postnatal.

I've had 2 cections and it's completely normal.
Also maternity pads are only for heavy bleeding once it's light just move to regular pads snd you'll be much more comfortable

Yes, I also had a csection and it went on for at least 5 weeks. I was also worried about the "rule" that the bleeding should always become lighter and follow the same colour change pattern. Mine was all over the place and there were days when I thought it was ending but then started up again. But there weren't any pain or signs of infection so I assume that was just normal for me.
